This 10 day tour, starts and ends in Istanbul, Turkey. Ease into your Turkey Experience as part of a small group tour heading from magical Istanbul down the Aegean Coast, then visit Cappadocia with its unique landscape.

10 - Day itinerary

Day 1
 

Istanbul

Welcome to Istanbul! You will be transferred to your hotel and the remainder of the day is yours, free to explore.

Day 2
 

Istanbul Old City

After breakfast, you enjoy a fully guided tour of the only city to span two continents, visiting the Blue Mosque, St Sophia Museum, Topkapi Palace (including Hagia Irene and the Harem) and the Hippodrome.
Cruise between two continents on the stretch of water that separates Europe from Asia in the afternoon with an optional 1 hour Bosphorus cruise by public ferry where your guide will explain the historical sites along the way.

Day 3
 

Gallipoli Battlefields

One of the most emotionally touching places in Turkey, today we visit the WWI Battlefields of Gallipoli including Lone Pine and Chunuk Bair Memorials, ANZAC Cove, The Nek, Johnston's Jolly, original trenches and tunnels.

Day 4
 

Troy, Assos, Kusadasi

Depart from Canakkale and head towards Troy, where we will explore the ancient city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the new, award-winning Troy Museum.
We continue on to the old village of Behramkale, a picturesque settlement with stone houses and narrow streets that offer a glimpse into traditional Turkish village life. You will have time to explore the village, take in the beautiful scenery, and perhaps enjoy a cup of Turkish tea or coffee at a local cafe. From Behramkale, we head south to Kusadasi.

Day 5
 

Ephesus, Kusadasi

Absorb yourself in history today with a guided tour of Ephesus and a visit to the site of the Temple of Artemis. Feel the mystical atmosphere of the ancient city and theatre before continuing to the former Greek village of Sirince, famous for its fruit wines. Carpet weaving has long traditions in Turkey and at the carpet village we learn how the carpets are made by hand and what determines their value.

Day 6
 

Pamukkale, Hierapolis

This morning we will enjoy a display of locally handcrafted leather goods before heading to the magnificent white calcium terraces, known as Travertines, in Pamukkale where we also tour the ancient city of Hierapolis. Take a dip, amongst ancient columns, in the hot springs that were used in Roman times for their therapeutic powers.

Day 7
 

Silk Road, Konya

Today we travel the ancient Silk Road visiting Sultanhani Caravansary and the Mevlana museum in Konya along the way. Tonight, don't miss the optional traditional Turkish folklore evening!

Day 8
 

Cappadocia, Goreme, Underground City

Marvel at the lunar landscape of Cappadocia today as we visit the Goreme Valley Open Air Museum and the fairy chimneys, and explore the many levels of an underground city.

Day 9
 

Cappadocia, Istanbul

We will explore Mustafapasa (Sinasos), a former Greek village. You will see Greek Orthodox architecture samples and continue to Gomeda Valley. Here you will be able to see churches carved into rocks, shelters, vineyards and underground city. Finally, we will visit Sobeses ancient city with its unique geometric mozaic floors. Then we will take a flight to Istanbul.

Istanbul

After breakfast our tour concludes and we say goodbye to our new friends and are transferred to the airport for your onward flight.

Notes

Please Note :
1. Group Size : Minimum Group Size of 1. Maximum Group Size of 20.
2. Age : Minimum Age of 0. Whilst there is no Maximum Age set it is assumed the customer is fit enough to take part in the activity or tour. Health documents may be requested.
3. This tour is available on any day. Be aware that some sites are closed on some days.
- Topkapi Palace is closed on Tuesdays and is replaced by the Basilica Underground Cistern.
- St. Sophia Museum is closed on Mondays and replaced with St. Chora.
4. We require a copy/image of your passport in order to book flights. You will need to have your passport handy at check-in for any domestic flights. Domestic flight times may vary due to various circumstances.
5. Topkapi Palace is closed on Tuesdays and is replaced with the Basilica Underground Cistern
6. Instead of travelling between Pamukkale and Cappadocia by bus, an flight from Denizli (nearest airport to Pamukkale) to Cappadocia is available at extra cost. Please contact with us for a quote.
